Bay Ridge 2024 - Week 3
Good afternoon!
Please read this email thoroughly as it contains a lot of information, especially about our upcoming meet!
The RSVP's are open for all dual meets. Please indicate whether or not your child will be at each meet (especially this weekend’s meet against Indian Landing!). Sign up instructions are located here. Even if you are not planning on attending a meet, please indicate that on the website. It saves me a lot of time and energy! I will try to have entries done and viewable on your Swimtopia account by Wednesday. All change requests are due to me by Thursday at noon. This is the process for all meets moving forward.
New this year—a mixed 8&under relay! The league is trying something new this year. The first event will be 8&under 100 freestyle relay with two boys and two girls. This event does not count for points and is supposed to be a fun way to kick off our meets. If I sign your child up and you have major concerns, please let me know. The league has also changed the way the last 150 freestyle relay is structured. Two swimmers will swim 25 yards each and then two swimmers will swim 50 yards each. If you child is signed up for that event, I will talk to them and make sure they know what they are swimming.
Job registration for this weekend’s meet is open! We are required to provide volunteers at all meets, both home and away. Job sign up opens the week of a meet. A reminder that each family is required to volunteer for three regular season meets and one championship. As noted on our website, if this family volunteer obligation is not met, the swimmers may not be allowed to participate in the Championship meet or if you are an outside member, you may not be invited back to swim team. A description of jobs is located here.
Bay Ridge is hosting a Stroke and Turn training tonight at the pool house from 7-9pm. Please complete this form and select Bay Ridge as your location and your. We currently only have 1 qualified official and are in need of more as well as a starter.
Finally, a part of one of our lane lines is broken and needs repair. Please let me know if you’d be willing to take a lane line ratchet off and replace it (think of the red cover where the line gets tightened). To be honest, I don’t know how long it will take but can send the instructions that I have found.
Specific details about this weekend's meet will be out later in the week. Please let me know if you need anything or have any questions. I can't wait to see everyone swim!
Go Marlins!
